The Great Big Beautiful Bill passed on July 4, 2025 has had serious economic consequences across the nation. In Ohio the statistics show the devastating effects on everyday people.

Passed by a Republican House and Senate, this bill has severely reduced food and health care to those who need it most. Here are some facts:

SNAP cuts: More than 100,000 Ohioans, including 50,000 children, lost their food benefits.

Healthcare and Medicaid: 113,000 Ohioans lost health care coverage.

Jobs: Projections indicate that Ohio could lose 51,000 jobs and $5.3 billion dollars by 2029. We all know about the recent loss of $1,300 jobs in Springfield

Additionally Republicans are working on introducing a bill to change the laws regarding eminent domain. This could mean that farmers’ would have no voice in data centers taking their land with the farmers receiving no compensation for months or years.

Both Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted insist that these actions support the working class and are pro-family.

Democratic leaders have sharply criticized these changes and say they are the cause of the sharp increase in the cost of living across Ohio. We need more Democratic leaders who will support the working class and families.

We have a chance to make a change. Krista Magaw is campaigning to be our representative in District 71. This includes all of Clinton and parts of Greene and Clark Counties.

As our representative Krista will be our voice in Columbus. She has travelled the District listening to and speaking with the people who live here. She will fight for us.
