YELLOW SPRINGS — Yellow Springs resident Krista Magaw is set to launch her campaign for the Ohio House of Representatives District 71 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at the Emporium, 237 Xenia Ave. in Yellow Springs.

The former executive director of the Tecumsseh Land Trust, in a press release, said she is concered about a potential abolition of property taxes and a resulting increase in sales or other tax witout resident input.

The candidate grew up in rural Ohio and touted her activity in environmental, health delivery and social justice services.

Magaw, a Democrat, previously lost to current incumbent Levi Dean, a Republican, in 2024, and will face him again this November.
